Note:
Since
we will
probaly
never
see a
program
that will
automatically
relink
a Xbox
DVD I
decided
to write
this complete
tutorial
for everyone
to use.
This
Tutorial
is only
for people
using
Linux
or Windows
Linux
and Windows
Guide:
(Tested
with SuSE
Linux
8.2)
Applications
Needed:
Wine

for Linux
users)

Hex
Workshop
(Tested
with v4.10)
To
start
off, I
couldnt
find a
good Hex
Editor
for Linux,
so I tried
Hex Workshop
with Wine
and it
worked
100%.
If you
have a
good Hex
Editor
for Linux
it should
work fine,
aslong
as it
has a
“Find”
feature
built
into it.
Re-Linking
Re-Linking
–
Done with
Xbox Games
Cut
Scenes
and Audio,
this hack
will link
a certain
Movie
or Sound
in another
ones place.
Known
Xbox Video
Formats:
[.xmv],
[.bik]
Known
Xbox Audio
Formats:
[.wma]
To
start
off, open
Hex Workshop
Click
“File”
and then
“Open”
Go
into your
folder
with the
game you
wish to
rip in
it, and
double
click
on the
default.xbe
Your
screen
should
now look
something
like this:

click
image
for full
view
Click
“Edit”
and then
“Find”
Where
it says
“Type:”
If not
already
change
“Hex
Values”
to “Text
String”
Now after
you have
done this,
the screen
should
look like
this:

click
image
for full
view
Now
where
it says
“Value:”
type in
the name
of the
file which
you wish
to relink,
for example
if I have
a intro.xmv
and i
want to
relink
it to
outro.xmv
(which
means
the xbox
will play
intro.xmv
instead
of playing
outro.xmv)
you will
type in
“outro.xmv”
in the
“Value:”
box.
After
you have
entered
the name
of the
file you
wish to
relink
click
”Apply”
and then
“OK”.
Now look
at your
screen
and see
if you
got this,
where
it says
“outro.xmv”
you would
name it
to “intro.xmv”

click
image
for full
view
Like
I said
above,
you would
now change
“outro.xmv”
to “intro.xmv”
Then
offcourse
click
“File”
and then
“Save”
NOW:
The reason
Re-Linking
is important
is because
Xbox Games
get big
for only
2 Reasons,
a lot
of Video
and Audio.
Now that
you can
relink
a 50MB
movie
to a smaller
one such
as 2MB,
you can
cut the
size of
the game
BIG TIME.
