Since i've been in the xbox hacking scene since the beginning, i have no problem at all with words, but to all the n00bs joining later, i find i quite annoying hearing the same question every day, "wutz this? wutz that?" so to all a dictionary!

updated, its been a while, and new stuff keeps comming up, here is my new update :D

Eject Trick = Bios feature, it disables the rebooting when you eject the
tray(supported in all latest bios'es

EvolutionX (#evolutionx on efnet)

Evox = Short for EvolutionX
Evox 2.x = The EvolutionX bios file, needed to flash bios to enable bigger HD replacement
EvolutionX 1.8.xxxx = The replacement dashboard or program
Evox Team = The dudes how make the bios/prog
(evox) Skin = A skin that can be used in EvolutionX
Evox.ini = This is the heart of evolutionx dashboard, it says what to use and where it is (Item "nametodisplayinevoxmenu","e:\path\of\file.xbe)
Menu.ini = Used in first version of evox (1.8.485)
485,2594,2812,#### = short for the version number of the evox dash

Avalaunch = New dash with nice features, has a good future if it keeps the current programmers, currently in Alpha

Nexgen = also a dash, this one goes for the looks, and has some new features, not much is known about it, sources claim it is still in development

Media X menu = Started as MenuX replacement, but became a slick looking dash, alot of tweaking is required

MenuX = Multiple apps or games on a single dvd or cd, use this to choose

Xbox 1.x = There are multiple xbox versions out now please look at www.xbox-scene.com/versions.php to find out wich one you have

Bios = this is what will be flashed or programmed to the chip, this can also be run from HD with the correct software

Superfr0 = Dude who adds tons of new features to the Evox Bios

Err = new error screen
Ybox = boots Yboxdash.xbe from c: on xbox HD instead of xboxdash.xbe
Blue = displayes a blue xbox logo
red = Displayes a red xbox logo
evoxdash= boots evoxdash.xbe from c: on xbox HD instead of xboxdash.xbe
noani = disables the blob anim in the beginning
nologo = disables the big X logo in the beginning
colormod= the bios that makes a red or blue X logo
vga = enables VGA output, a vga cable is required.
MULTI = works on multiple versions of xbox

FTP = used to transfer data from xbox hd to pc had with the use of evox
PC direct to xbox = Crosscable
PC via hub/switch/router to xbox = straigtcable

256k Bios = Bios used for Matrix Chip, althoug all bioses are 256k, most are used 4 times to fit on a 8Mbit (1 Mbyte) chip (like pcbioxx)

XBFS = Xbox file system, not the official name, but its the format that the xbox uses on the HD

XBMP = Xbox Media Player, plays divx, vcd, svcd, mp3

xbins = #xbins it is an channel on IRC for homebrew games and files

Matrix = no, not a movie, is a non solder chip, 2Mbit (256k) chip for bios image

Bioxx \ OpenXbox \ PC Bioxx = 9 wire Solder, 8Mbit (1Mbyte) chip.

Xecuter 2.x Lite = This is the most used chip, advised for normal users

Xecuter 2.x Pro = This chip is advised for programmers and ppl who want the best

LPC points = The big points on the motherboard where the non solder chips touch or wires are being solderd

d0 (d null / d oh / dee oh) = this is the worst part of current chips, the 1st generation chips had nothing but these points

Homebrew = Home made, not factory

chip = Mod chip made out of a chip
game = Game made non professionally, with "not officially recieved" XDK
app = application made non professionally, with "not officially recieved" XDK
file = File made non professionally, with "not officially recieved" XDK or programmed for use in windows

iso = the image used to burn on a cd or dvd to be readed in the xbox

bin = Binary file, compiled from the source code
*.bin = extention mostly used in the xbox scene by the bios file/image

pcb = Printed Circuit board, used for chip or mobo the green plastic plate with holes and other thingies

LPC = Chip used for homebrew chips (aka LPC mods)

Bios replacement= Replace the bios

readme = file u always MUST read before asking any question

*.nfo = this file usally has info in it too, a must read too

Topic (on IRC) = Check first for info

research = Always done before doing some thing u dont know or never done before

rtfm = short for read the fucking manual, usally said to a person that
askes way to much questions that can be found in the manual

XDK (SDK) = Xbox Developer Kit (Software developer kit) used to make games and apps for use on the xbox

*.Xbe = executive file for xbox, play this

Latest Version = the highest number, eg evox 2.5 (bios) is newer the evox
2.3 or (evox) 2812 is newer then (evox) 485

XBlive \ Live \ Xbox Live = the online multiplayer network of microsoft for the xbox

Exploits = The way to play linux and home brew games on the Xbox with out the need to solder or even opening up the Xbox

Audio Exploit = Here a bug is used in the cd ripping to launch custom files such as linux

Free-X Exploit = Here a bug in the font files is used to launch custom files

007/MA = here a bug in the save games is used to launch custom files
