My
receiver
has 1
optical
and 1
digital
coax input.
I wanted
to keep
the optical
for my
DVD player
so I needed
a SP-DIF
not an
optical
output
from my
Xbox.
Still
the advantage
of going
with the
Advanced
A/V pack
is you
don’t
have to
open up
your Xbox
if anyone
is worried
about
that ;-)
This
is very
simple
and done
similar
in 2 other
tutorials
so I won’t
go into
too much
detail
just good
pics.
Parts-
RCA jack
that mounts
to a panel
2 wires
1. remove
these
3 screws
and remove
cover
2. remove
screw
holding
in PCB
3. I chose
to put
my RCA
jack here
since
there’s
plenty
of room
4. drill
your ¼
hole for
the RCA
jack
5. solder
2 wires
to the
board
- Pos/digital
signal
and GND
6. mount
your jack,
wire it
in –
signal/pos
is middle
7. put
back together
DONE
a nice
clean
looking
Digital
SP-DIF
connection
while
also keeping
your optical.
Both still
work.
