How to copy savegames

Tutorial written by : pmow

Most of the steps in here require altering the xbox's disk data. Before doing this, backup ALL directories on E, and if you haven't already, on C. You will need evoX running, and a basic understanding of directories (folders).

This is useful for backing up savegame data, copying savegames from one xbox to another on the other side of earth, and deleting individual savegames, without having to use the MS Dashboard.

Inside each of these folders you'll find several files, including TitleMeta.xbx. This is the header name. Remember in the MS Dashboard, when looking up games, there are several saved games under a header that says the name? Well, it's located here. Just open with notepad, make it the default for xbx files. This will make it easy to open any of these files and check what game it is.

Each folder in UDATA is a specific game or program. For example, 41560001 has a TitleMeta with:

TitleName=Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2X

Obviously, this folder contains the save games for the game.

Copying individual gamesaves from a game:

Under 41560001 (Tony Hawk) I have several subdirectories, listed below:

Each of these folders contain an individual savegame. Simply copy the whole folder, and give to a friend. I've named a savegame for Tony Hawk "EvolutionX". This savegame is in B933A48DFEBE, because the folder contains a file called "CAREER - EVOLUTION X". In most games however, the SaveMeta.xbx contains the name of the savegame. In this case, SaveMeta.xbx contains:

Name=CAREER - EVOLUTION X

Simply copy the whole savegame folder, in this case B933A48DFEBE. If the person has no savegames under this game, for example if giving to someone without a Tony Hawk directory (41560001) you must include it.

After copying, zipping, and restoring the file on another xbox, the xbox title will have that data.
