I made this Easy mod for all the newbies and people who don’t have much money.
You will not need to Buy seprate LED and you don’t need to worry about what type of resistors to get, You Just need Any LED fan of your choice and any color.

TOOLS NEEDED:

-15watt Iron
-Electrical Tape
-Shrink tubing
-1 LED Fan
-Solder
-PC power Splitter
- Old wire or Cdrom Audio Cable
-Hot Gluegun

Step One:
Go pick up a LED FAN any color you wish and be ready to rip it apart.

Step2:
You will see 3 wires for the fan and if your lift those wires your will see 2 more wires under them. Lift the wires to expose the RED AND BLACK LED wires

STEP 3:
Now you wanna CUT those 2 wires away from the Fan motor. If you do not want to damage the fan then be careful.

STEP 4:
Flip the fan around to you see a Large Solder blob. If you look on the other side your will notice its notched and the solder holds it all together. You will wanna remove this.

STEP5:
Take your nice and Hot Solder Iron heat up the solder blob and try to pull up on one side and down on the other, Doesn’t take much to remove the connection.

STEP6:
Now your Strip should be removed from your Fan and should look like this picture.
Lay your strip out.

STEP 7:
Reconnect the strap back into the circle it was. Resolder the solder blob to create the connection again

STEP8:
Now you have your circle back and have 2 wires and RED AND BLACK. Strip the ends of the wire or resolder new ones its all up to you. For now I stripped them and will prep them to connect longer wires for my power.

STEP9:
Here is my wire and connectors I am using. Im using a Old cdrom audio cable. a power splitter from a old cpu, I just soldered the wires together used shrink tubing and some tape.

STEP10:
Wires connected with shrink tubing.

STEP 11:
A complete LED light ring with power hookup. Now its time to test out Light in our Xbox. Double check and make sure all connections are Shrinked or taped.

STEP12:
The test is now at hand. Removed cover off Xbox and remove top Metal sheet to expose your Jewel. Set lights onto the lid of the Xbox Make sure your xbox is unplugged remove power from the Harddrive and plug into your LED Light ring. Plug in your Xbox and turn it on. Your lights should come on. CONGRATS!!! You got that far easy hey.

Step13:
Ok now your Lights work its time to Mount them to your Xbox Lid. Remove xbox power
And unhook the Light cable. Lay the XB Top on the ground Positions the lights to where you want them, once you get them where u want, Put some Tape on it to hold it in place and warm up your glue Gun

Step14:
Ok once all taped and looks good. Grab your hot glue Gun and glue around your light ring. I also glues all the spots the can short out or you can use tape on those don’t matter.
You should have something like this. You can remove your Temp tape if u wish too.

STEP15:
Now the rest is totally up to you, If you want to put the metal back on you may or you can leave it off. I put mine back on. Run your wire to the left side to the rear of the xbox and then connect it all together. Slowly put the Xbox lid on Once its on give it a test go to make sure your lights still work. If they work then Put all your screw back in and your DONE!!

In the Dark Image. These lights are really small and there is only 3 of them But they sure light up the jewel nice and clean. Have a look.
