(v0.1)
Tutorial

What
you need
:
An
Xbox
Live
Kit
A Set
of powered
(active)
speakers
A 2.5mm
Stereo
jack
plug
(Radio
Shack,
Maplins)
Or a
2.5mm
stereo
splitter
(Code
RF31J
Maplins)
Soldering
Iron
if using
the
2.5mm
method

METHOD
1 :
I
used a
set of
Creative
Labs powered
speakers
£15
argos
that came
with a
3.5mm
stereo
jack plug
to plug
into your
PC. I
hacked
off the
plug for
the speakers
then I
joined
the two
coloured
wires
together
(positive)
and the
two bares
together
(negative)
and then
soldered
the coloured
wires
to the
inner
post of
the 2.5mm
jack plug.
I then
soldered
the two
bare wires
to the
outer
post and
hey presto
I have
the headset
communicator
coming
out through
the speakers.
Now I
can still
enjoy
the experience
but without
the headset
on my
head and
I can
talk to
people
in my
room without
fear of
chatting
over the
mike!

METHOD
2 :
I
used a
set of
Creative
Labs powered
speakers
£15
argos
that came
with a
3.5mm
jack plug
to plug
into PC.
I bought
a Standard
3.5mm
&
2.5mm
mono mic
&
earphone
sockets
which
just happens
to plug
into the
xbox live
communicator
slot it
has two
ends that
you can
plug the
powered
speakers
into 3.5mm
socket
and it
also has
a 2.5mm
socket
too that
you can
plug a
Nokia
handsfree
or other
mike so
you can
have speakers,
communicator
or Nokia
headset
or even
a mike
with a
2.5mm
jack plug
on.
