Background
Information:
Lets
say you
are having
alignment
problems
with your
modchip
from time
to time,
stuck
with a
modchip
that only
allows
only up
to a 256k
bios,
or just
want to
show off
your xbox
can still
be modded
without
the use
of a modchip!
Some advantages
from going
from a
modchip
to a unmodded
xbox,
which
is still
is modded
are: being
able to
use a
bios bigger
then 256k!,
as the
bios is
run from
the harddrive.
Whats
Needed?
- Xbox
(Any Version)
- Xbox
Live Game
(From
Harddrive
or CD)
- Copy
Of Config
Magic
Final
(ConfigMagic-FINAL.rar)
- download
not available
(illegal)
- Copy
Of A BFM
Bios (Boot
From Media)
- download
not available
(illegal)
- Copy
Of Phoenix
Bios Loader
Version
1.3 -
download
here
(this
download
is made
legal
... so
you will
have to
fill in
the RC4
and EEPROM
keys in
boot.cfg
yourself
- or you
can find
a download
somewhere
else with
all info
filled
in)
- Copy
of The
Audio
Exploit
- download
here
- Copy
of FTP
Software
(FlashFXP)
- Any
Audio
Disc (Not
CDR)
The
Scenario:
I have
a modded
xbox by
the way
of a modchip
and a
new harddrive
in the
xbox.
Instructions:
1) You
must have
the 4920
dashboard
installed
(LIVE1.0
dash -
not an
earlier
version
and certainly
not the
new Live2.0
(5659).
You can
find this
dash on
most 1st
generation
live games.
(big changes
it is
already
installed
on your
xbox)
2) Rename
your BFM
bios to
xboxrom.bin
(ex. x2_4977.bin
to xboxrom.bin)
3) FTP
to your
Xbox,
open up
the e:\
partition,
ftp all
the files
included
with the
Bios Loader
along
with the
bios into
the root
of e:\
4) FTP
the Audio
Exploit
to /E/TDATA/fffe0000/music/
so...
when the
Audio
Exploit
is on
the xbox
harddrive
it should
look like
/E/TDATA/fffe0000/music/ST.DB
5) Run
Config
Magic
on your
Xbox,
and select
"Lock",
to lock
the harddrive
6) Open
your Xbox,
disable
your modchip
or remove
it. (I
Suggest
you disable
it instead
of removing
it first,
in case
you mess
somthing
up)
7) The
Xbox should
now boot
straight
to the
MS Xbox
Dashboard
8) Insert
a Audio
Disc in
your Xbox
Once the
Audio
Disc starts
playing,
Press
B to get
to the
Copy Screen
and Select
"Copy"
Select
"Copy"
at the
bottom
right
side of
the screen
Select
"NEW
SOUNDTRACK"
Press
"Done"
9) EvoX/Nexgen
should
now boot,
depending
on which
Bios you
use
Pros:
+ No Modchip
needed
+ No Bad
Flashes
+ Solderless
Modchip
cant get
loose
+ Unlimited
space
for a
Bios
+ Audio
Exploit
does not
mess up
your Xbox
Clock
or when
you unplug
the console.
Cons:
- Must
boot with
a Audio
Disc everytime
to access
the modded
portion
of the
xbox (Step
8)
Q
&
A
Q: Can
I play
my backed
up games
from a
harddrive
or cd
with using
this guide?
A: Yes,
it is
just like
using
a modchip,
with out
the chip.
Q: Where
can I
downloaded
the applications/exploit
needed?
A: Xbins,
more info
@ www.xbins.org
Q: Why
is the
audio
exploit
better
then the
font exploit?
A: The
font exploit
will mess
up your
Xbox Clock
and your
xbox will
die once
you unlpug
it from
the wall.
Q: Can
I use
any bios?
A: Yes,
just make
sure its
BFM (Boot
From Media)
Q: If
I want
to use
the modchip
again,
can I?
A: Yes,
just turn
it back
on.
Q: How
do I upgrade
the bios?
A: Just
rename
the new
BFM Bios
to xboxrom.bin
and ftp
it to
your e:\
partition
of the
xbox
