How to Make an Xbox to USB Cable That Still Works on Your Xbox and Doesn't Look Like Ass (v0.1)

This tutorial will basically allow you to use your Xbox controller on your PC, but still have the controller be able to work on your Xbox.

Parts needed:
A controller cable and a male USB cable end (I used the end from a hub, but any end will work – mouse, keyboard, ect.).

Step 1:
Take the casings off of the end of the Xbox controller (the end that plugs into the Xbox) and cut the USB wire off of the device. To get the casing off of the end of the Xbox controller simply pry it off with a knife.

Step 2:
Cut or drill a hole in the top casing that you just popped off of your controller cable. Make your hole right in the middle of the circular indentation that’s on the top of the plug in. I used a knife, but a drill would work too. Make your hole just big enough for your USB cable to go through. When the hole’s cut, put your USB cable through it.

Step 3:
When you popped off the casing on the Xbox plug in there should be a piece of metal. Tear it off. This will expose the 5 wires in the cord. They are soldered to metal points in the controller plug in. This makes our soldering easy because the solder points are already there. Now you just simply take the USB wires and solder them to the wires in the Xbox cable. They’re color coded. The Xbox has the additional yellow wire; don’t worry about that. In the picture you’ll see the silver solder points in the circled area.

Step 4:
Put the casing back on the Xbox plug in. You may want to put some glue where the USB cable comes through the hole so that you don’t pull the wires off. Now you have an Xbox cable that will work with your PC and your Xbox. You’ll need to find drivers. Here’s what I’m using for drivers - http://www.xboxbeyond.com/download.htm The downside is that you can’t use the L and R triggers or the thumbstick buttons (pushing them in).
