Eject Trick doesn't work on no-patch-hack mods
>> More and more sources on IRC confirm that all modchips with the no-patch-hack (enigmah final and xtender1.1 or clones) can not do the "eject trick".
The "Eject Trick" is a system for homebrew xbox programs to allow users to swap disc. (without resetting the xbox)
An example of its use is a Mediaplayer. So you launch the mediaplayer with a disc and then switch to another disc with the mp3s , divx or vcd files.
Note that this information stays unconfirmed althought more and more sources confirm it.
Even if this trick really doesn't work on mods with the no-patch-hack , it's still possible there's another way to do this eject trick.
We will keep you up-to-date if there is any new information.

xISO v0.7.2
>> The guys from YurSoft send us xISO v0.7.1
xISO can create & read XBOX ISOs , Inject files & patching XBE devkit files so they work in a retail modded xbox.
The reading can be done from a Image or directly from a CD/DVD (ripped, not original).
UPDATE:: Yursoft just mailed me version 0.7.2 (it fixes some problem creating XBOX ISOs with size > 2 Gb)

Xbox Mediaplayer

Pandorachip ready

They just finished their 12wire xbox modchip.
The specs are :

- Plays all original import games
- Universal design, Plays on PAL/US/JAP consoles
- All Modied XBE code and custom code can boot
- Macrovision Disabled
- No Patch Hacks added

The modchip is not placed on pcb , so it will look like this
Pandora will send us samples this week for testing. We'll post more news as soon as we got the chips.

They also released an expected price for the final modchip + flash software : 59€ (56$) per modchip
The way I understand it , is that they will sell the modchip with no content/code on the chip. ('cause you are able to flash the modchip yourself very easily with the Xtender1.1 BIOS for example - no special hardware needed).
This way they keep the modchip (or "tool" like they call it) 100% legal.

Flashing program for openxbox
>> Here's a picture of the program that will allow you to reflash the openxbox modchip.
You won't need any special hardware for flashing this mod (or maybe just a special cable). You connect the chip to the ltp port (printer port) of your pc and load the new BIOS image with a windows program.
It's unkown if this feature is really necessary thought , so far there is no indication MS will/can make a BIOS check.
It *could* be used for possible homebrew BIOS images. (maybe for the xbox linux project).

More about 9wire modchip

Check out this article (you can use babelfish to translate german)
The chip is called "openxbox" with 9wires it will play backups , imports & homebrew software.
Also interesting ... it seems like it will be possible to upgrade the chip with a PC. (via printerport and windows program , no need for special hardware).
The chip will have a switch so you can easily switch back to the original xbox BIOS. (this can be usefull if MS will ever make games or online services with BIOS check).
The chip is expected in about 2-3 weeks.

some discovery about the lpc :-
1. seems that with the lpc, the rom access to the hidden boot code does not appear on the lpc. yet to verify this properly.
2. the address of the rom is mapped to 0xFFxxxxxx, this will cause problem with some of the lpc-flash chip.
3. everything seems to work as before - the security stuffs are still in place - just another way to connect your flash.
...
next, will try to unravel those magic 128 bytes header (0x00-0x80) in the flash. it seems to be loaded by the mcpx to configure itself upon reset. this may hold the key to disable the hidden boot code."

This information is NOT confirmed and has NOT been tested yet.
Standalone Xstream server

This means it does not require the .NET framework like the original release of Xstream.

Eject without reset

"In good news for DivX player authors out there, a method of preventing the Xbox from rebooting when you eject the disk was found. There is no known way to *turn off* this mechanism, but it can be stopped from turning on in the first place. Using Visual Studio, go to "Xbox Image" in Project Options and add the following switch: /testmediatypes:0x80000007 . The Xbox will no longer reboot in this instance. It is the presence of the 80000000 bit that enables this."
This means the guys working on the Xbox Mediaplayer will be able to let us switch disc so we can watch our own movies.
