IBM Unveils World's Fastest eDRAM

Embedded Dynamic Random Access Memory is the same type of memory used in the daughter-die of the Xbox 360's graphics processing unit.
This new eDRAM designed by IBM, who helped create the three-core PowerPC central processing unit found in the Xbox 360, dramatically improves on-processor memory performance in about one-third the space with one-fifth the standby power of conventional static random access memory.
