Xbox 360: 2 Remotes , Production started week of Sept. 5th
>> Crave.cnet.co.uk attended a lecture by Jonathan Hayes, lead designer for the Xbox 360, at London's Design Museum last week where they saw the final retail Xbox360. They posted a few interesting details:
* Full production of the Xbox 360 started in the week of september 5th 2005.
* There will be two versions of the Xbox 360 remote control, used to navigate the console's media menus. The one you'll get (free) in the premium package as launch promotion will be the basic model. The larger one will sell separately, has more buttons and lights up, which will be useful for home cinema use.
* They also talked about the design of the Xbox360: "Microsoft used a four-axis design template, with 'Wild' and 'Mild' on the horizontal, and 'Organic' to 'Architectural' on the vertical. Gamers erred more towards organic when shown potential Xbox 360 designs, and Microsoft is offering interchangeable faceplates to let people decide whether they want to take a walk on the Wild or Mild side."
