We awoke to find what we were hoping wouldn't happen. EvoX released the bios to support both console versions. Now many may think this is great, but we are very sad about this, and we're sure the Xbox Linux team are also. When we first cracked the v1.1, Xbox Linux and ourselves knew about the secret backdoor (actually a bug) in the Xbox that enabled us to crack it so fast. Of course the only way to conceal this was to release 2 x different BIOS's, but now the secret is out and the consequences won't be clear until a new version is released. We thought we'd tell you as you'd probably want to know why we wouldn't be cracking the next version in 2 days instead of 2 months. Aside from this nice to see you improved the sloppy upload speed and fixed the skin bug (oh and thanks for the credit on the IGR function hmmmm), we hope to see even more improvements in future. Also well done to PiXEL8 for solving the true VGA output problem.

Many have been wondering what's going to happen next. Well the biggest thing going on around here right now is the neXgen dash. It's absolutely awesome and will eventually blow any competition out of the water. Expect a release shortly. Also our BIOS is having a few tweeks so you can expect a new release in the next day or so. We're also working on some different projects of interest which we'll talk about in more detail after Christmas. We're having fun right now with disassembling some very popular code which we think will benefit the scene by making it more "available" - a compressed XBE is good to no one so perhaps a complete strip down all the way to .asm maybe more fun?. Have a great Christmas - all updates will be posted on the forums by various members of the team, this news page is now closed for the holidays.
