European Union enlargement: United in diversity
>> OK, I know ... this is very very off topic, but I'm still doing it ;)
On 1 May 2004, large parts of Eastern and Western Europe will be united in peace and democracy as the EU expands to 25 Member States. Ten new countries are joining the European Union - Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, the Slovak Republic and Slovenia.
1 May 2004 - a new era of opportunity begins for Europe. 450 million people in 25 countries can now build their future together, united in peace, freedom and democracy. To celebrate this day, I would invite you to join me in extending a warm welcome to all our new fellow citizens.
